The International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees, Moving Picture Technicians, Artists and Allied Crafts of the United States, Its Territories and Canada was founded in 1893 when representatives of stagehands working in eleven cities met in New York and pledged to support each others’ efforts to establish fair wages and working conditions for their members. Our union has evolved to embrace the development of new entertainment mediums, craft expansion, technological innovation and geographic growth. IATSE Local 125 is a mixed local of stagehands and motion picture operators. We are not a companyIATSE Local 125 is simply an organization of industry professionals with common goals. IATSE Local 125 does not make a profit, and your payroll does not get split-up within the organization. As employees, we cover our own operating costs. There are no middlemen. You do not pay a percentage to a labor broker. The benefit percentages go directly to the employees, and because they appreciate the work environment, you see higher productivity. PayrollIf your company is not set up to take care of payroll, IATSE Local 125 has a working relationship with a payroll services company that can take care of your payroll and worker’s compensation needs. Where we workOur jurisdiction includes over 16 counties in the Northwest Region of Indiana. Local 125 provides highly skilled rigging, carpentry, lighting, audio,and production personnel to major venues, producers, and promoters throughout Northwest Indiana.
